NewER hair

Heeeey peoples. So I got my haircut. Again. And hilighted. The asymmetrical look is gone and it's kinda in a cute funky lil bob, but short in the back. And it's supah dupah cute. At least /I/ think so. Hahaha

"I'm only up when you're not down. Don't want to fly if you're still on the ground. It's like no matter what I do. Well, you drive me crazy half the time. The other half I'm only trying to let you know that what I feel is true. And I'm only me when I'm with you."

Summer Recap

Woooow well hey y'all it's been a pretty long tme. My summer has been nothing short of fabulous. I've been babysitting a lot which is nice because...it's nice to be making money. Hahaha. Ummm I just got back from Disney World and Universal Studios in Florida. I was there for one and a half weeks. It. Was. Awesome. I got to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter which is an incredible experience for a dork like meeee. Butterbeeer? Best thing ever. Kinda like a cream soda with buttercream icing on top. Delish. School starts on the 25th. Crazy right? So not ready for my adventures in Public School. But whatever. God will watch out for me. My birthday is coming uuup. Crazy stuuuff. Summer has basically been a hectic mess. I don't think I ever posted when I got my hair cut a few months ago. It's pretty darn shot...I'll probably update my blog with new pics on the side. So yeah. Tis my life. :)

"Well I like the way your hair falls in your face. You've got the keys to me. I love each freckle on your face. Oh, I've never been so wrapped up. Honey I like the way you're everything I ever wanted. I had time to think it all over and all I could say is come closer. Take a deep breath then jump and fall into me. Cause every time you smile I smile, and every time you shout I shout for you."

wow...just WOW! :)

Opening night was da bomb yesterday!!! We rocked the mullet (cast joke ;) )

In other news, today our cast went to support the other three onstage shows and they were phenomenal. I have to say seeing the musical was an odd experience for me. The past five years I've been in the musical...so it was really odd seeing it from the audience point of view...and a bit more sentimental than I expected.  :P But ya know..it was all good. The shows were fabulous! I was so impressed with the young show...Jungal Book. Those kids knew how to play an audience. :) And Crane Wife was.....wonderful and moving. And Mattress...I LOVE MY MUSICAL BUDDIES THEY ROCKED IT!!! I was just...so impressed this year. Especially since it was all new directors. CONGRATS ONSTAGE ENSEMBLE!!

Today my brother is graduating from college. That is weeeird. I feel so YOUNG! Either that or so old...can't figure out which.
So yesterday was youth group. That was really awesome. Last real meeting until SEPTEMBER :O
Aaaaand yeah. I'm ready to welcome in the Summer very very soon.
I LOVE THE SUN! Have I mentioned that? I honestly don't care how hot it is. It could be 183 and I wouldn't care...as long as it's not that hot in my house...which it usually is because my mother never ever turns on the A/C >.< But you know...I've learned to live with it!

"It's too darn hot! It's too darn hot! I'd like to cool with my baby tonight. Break every rule with my baby tonight. I'd like to cool with my baby tonight, break every rule with my baby tonight, but pillow, you'll be my baby tonight cause it's too darn hot!"

Legally Blonde

So, I'm a musical theatre junky...and yes, no matter how cheesy it may be, that does mean that I enjoy Legally Blonde the Musical.
And it's stuck in my head... :P For those of you who don't know, Legally Blonde is about the cheesiest musical EVER. Here's a short, short synopsis:
Elle Woods is her sorority's leader. She has everything, including dream boyfriend Warner. When she thinks that Warner is going to propose, he ends up dumping her because he is ging to Harvard Law and needs someone more serious. So Elle, the pink loving sorority queen who carries her dog bruiser around in her purse, applies to Harvard and gets in. She wants to prove to Warner that she is just as serious as anyone else. Over time she becomes the top of her class, winning cases all by herself in the first year. Warner proposes, but she realizes that she doesn't love him anymore. She loves Emmet, the guy who taught her that she needed to work hard and have a chip on her shoulder. They get married and live happily ever after. The end.

"Here you'll become what you're supposed to be. You think you can't, but you can! Think of the guy that you want most to be. It's your chance to make it. So take it like a man."

and here's another verse...

"That's the best part: the outside is new, but now it reflects what's all ready in you! Couldn't change that if  Iwanted to. And I...do not."
~Take it like a Man

Legally Blonde: The Musical

Oh, and I also have this one stuck in my head! It's Legally Blonde...from Legally Blonde...hahaha the title song!

"Back to the sun, back to the shore! Back to what I was before. Back where I'm known; back in my own very small pond! Laugh with my friends when I arrive. We'll drop the top and just drive! That's fine with me. Just let me be legally blonde."

Vanilla Twilight

Most beautiful song ever written? Yup, you guessed it...Vanilla Twilight.

"The stars lean down to kiss you, but I lie awake and miss you. Pour me a heavy dose of atmosphere. Cause I'll doze off safe and soundly, but I'll miss your arms around me. I'll send you a postcard dear, cause I wish you were here.

I'll watch the night turn light blue, but it's not the same with out you because it takes two to whisper quietly. The silence isn't so bad till I llook at my hands and feel sad. Cause the spaces between my fingers are right where yours fit perfectly.

I'll find repose in new ways, though I haven't slept in two days cause cold nostalgia chills me to the bone. But drenched in vanilla twilight, I'll sit on the front porch all night. Waist deep in thought because when I think of you, I don't feel so alone. I don't feel so alone. I don't feel so alone.

As many times as I blink, I'll think of you tonight. I'll think of you tonight.

When violet eyes get brighter and heavy wings grow lighter I'll taste the sky and feel alive again. And I'll forget the world that I knew, but I swear I won't forget you. Oh, if my voice could reach back through the past, I'd whisper in your ear, 'oh darling I wish you wre here.'"

Literature post about injustice

Another literature blog post:

My topic: injustice.
What is injustice, you may ask. What is the thin line that seperates fair and unfair? In To Kill a Mcokingbird we get two views on this subject. Injustice in the eyes of the modern-day reader, and injustice in the eyes of a young girl named Scout in the story.
First, the reader's point of view. When hearing about the case that Atticus is defending, a witness of the 21st century would see Atticus as doing the right thing. He is defending a man, who did not do the wrong that he was accused of. It doesn't matter that he's black. But there is much more equality in our culture today then there was back then. The townsfolk don't see it that way, but instead see Atticus as stupid and low-down. Is that really fair, seeing as the man wasn't even guilty of the crime? This is what we, today, call injustice, unfairness, or just plain stupidity.
But what about Scout, Atticus's daughter? Because of the work that her father is doing, she is having to deal with problems far beyond her years. She gets teased and made fun of at school, and even with her relatives. But she keeps a good image for the most part to keep Atticus proud. Scout doesn't even really understand what's happening, but even so she stands with her family for better or for worse. She doesn't think that it is fair in the beginning, her getting bullied for Atticus's actions. But overtime she realizes that trials will arise and she needs to face them bravely. However unjust the situation might be, Scout is ready to defend her family's honor.

"Sometime we fall down and can’t get back up

How come we don’t say I love you enough
Till it’s too late, it’s not too late"

pictures from weekend

I had the most awesomest snow weekend ever! Among other things, it was my friend Erika's 18th birthday. We went to her party, slept over, and did a ton of fun stuff. My favorite part probably though was at the end. We decided to do our make-up all funky and do a model photoshoot in her gorgeous snow-covered yard! Enjoy the pics! :D

Inclusion (lit post)

For my literature assignment. I am supposed to talk about a main idea in the book To Kill a Mockingbird. I have decided to use the topic: insiders and outsiders.

When reading this book you really get a good idea of who is in the loop and who isn't. The county of Maycomb is tiny, so whenever someone new comes to town it's quite obvious that that person doesn't quite fit in. I would like to use the example of Miss Caroline the first-grade teacher. She has never lived in Maycomb and doesn't know the rules. Everyone expects her to be aware of what is happening in the town. I guess you could say that she isn't caught up on the "pop culture" of the county. She's written so that you kind of dislike her and she's not supposed to be your favorite character in the book. But is it really her fault that she wants to make a good impression in this town? If you were suddenly thrust into a situation where everyone else knew each other, whereas you didn't know anyone, wouldn't you want to make a good image of yourself? And wouldn't you be upset if other peoples' view of you was ruined on the first day of a new job in a new town? I know that I would be.
The people of Maycomb aren't accostumed to change, they sort of automatically shun the new and different one in the group. When Miss Caroline tries to introduce the Dewey Decimal System, no one really cares. The people of Maycomb are insensitive and narcistic to say the least. But aren't we all? This is a good wake up call to the reader. It emphasizes to me that we need to be aware of when we are excluding one another from our cliques. The idea of insiders and outsiders is actually kind of tragic. But yet, no matter how hard we try, they still exist in the every day situation. And the book To Kill a Mockingbird is just another example of this.

"I wonder what its like to have it all
To never be afraid that I would fall
But I don't think I've ever known a time
That I was part of the in crowd"

meh

Hey y'all .So it's been a while. It's snowing. Which I would usually be soo excited about. but today it kinda sucks. I had soo many great plans for the weekend. Goodby plans. Down the drain. BLECH! >.< But I'll live!

"And I've been looking in the back of the book for the answers. Hoping that the bell wouldn't chime. And I'm not ready to put down my pencil just yet. There are too many answers that I didn't get. I need a little less pressure and a little more time. I'm trying to follow. I'm trying to lead. I'm trying to find what is true. But if you're gonna stand with me, you'll have to concede that we all have a little more homework to do."
